Overview
This article describes how to fix devices where insider risk agent version 2.3.0 failed to register and deploy. On affected devices, if the first registration attempt failed, the agent did not automatically retry as expected. This issue is fixed in insider risk agent version 2.3.1.
Affects
- Devices that had issues registering insider risk agent version 2.3.0.
- This issue only affects agent version 2.3.0. Previous versions (2.2.0 and earlier) and later versions (2.3.1 and later) automatically retry to register on a set schedule, which means once the registration issue is fixed, the agent successfully registers on its own.
Steps
To fix a device with insider risk agent version 2.3.0 that failed to register:
- Install insider risk agent version 2.3.1. For detailed instructions, see Install the insider risk agent and complete the following steps:
- Download insider risk agent version 2.3.1 from the Incydr console.
- Install agent version 2.3.1 on affected devices. Follow the steps in the Windows and Mac sections as appropriate for your environment.
- Run the insider risk agent installers via your deployment tool.

Re-deploy the
deployment.properties
file to affected devices. - Wait at least 5 minutes, then verify the registration status in the Incydr console:
- Agents that have registered successfully appear on the Administration > Environment > Agents page. Click the Filter icon
to search for devices by username or hostname.
- Agents that have not successfully registered appear on the Administration > Status > Agent Registration Status page. This page identifies the issues preventing registration. Review our Agent registration issues guide for troubleshooting steps to correct common issues.
- Agents that have registered successfully appear on the Administration > Environment > Agents page. Click the Filter icon
