Send Instructor lessons with the Actions menu

Overview

If your product plan includes Instructor, you can send lessons directly to users from Incydr. This article describes how to send Code42 Instructor lessons to users, as well as the configuration needed to set it up.

Considerations

  • This functionality is available only if your product plan includes Instructor. For help with product plans, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM). If you do not know your CSM, contact our Technical Support Engineers.
  • To send Code42 Instructor lessons, you must have one of these roles: Insider Risk Admin, Insider Risk Analyst, Insider Risk Read Only, or Insider Risk Respond.
  • Instructor lessons are available in 18 languages. Users can choose from the following languages within the Vimeo video player: Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.

Before you begin

  • To ensure users receive Instructor emails, add code42.com to your email server's allowlist. If you suspect that email is not arriving from Code42, contact our Technical Support Engineers.
  • You must specify a default email client on your device. For example, in your web browser, select a default email service (such as Gmail), or choose a default mail app in your device settings (such as Outlook).
  • Verify the lesson video uses the correct URL. If you have downloaded and integrated Code42 Instructor lessons into your learning management or training system, you can enter the URL used by that system for each video. Incydr then inserts a link to this URL in the message when you send a lesson to users.
  • Customize the message text as needed for your organization's culture and contact details.

Send a Code42 Instructor lesson

  1. Sign in to the Code42 console.
  2. You can send lessons from several different places:
    • From an alert:
      1. Go to Alerts > Review alerts.
      2. Select an alert.
    • From a user profile:
      1. Go to User activity > All users.
      2. Select a user.
    • From elsewhere in the Code42 console:
      1. Click View profile next to a username.
  3. Select Actions > Send user an Instructor lesson, then select a lesson.
    Incydr opens a new email in your default email client with a templated message and the URL for the lesson you selected.
  4. (Optional) Customize the message text.
  5. Send the message to the user.
