Overview

Version 6.6 of CrashPlan for Small Business includes new features and a number of fixes and enhancements.

Updates affect the following components:

Refreshed CrashPlan for Small Business app user interface 

November 28, 2017

Version 6.6.0 of the CrashPlan for Small Business app simplifies life for administrators and users with an overhauled user interface, which makes it even easier to manage and use CrashPlan for Small Business for backup and recovery. The release began on November 28, 2017, and the new app will automatically become available to all customers and trial users over the next few months.

Considerations 

  • Version 6.6.0 of the CrashPlan for Small Business app is currently only available for Windows and Linux devices. 
  • Devices running 32-bit Linux systems remain unsupported. Beginning with version 6.6.0, the CrashPlan for Small Business app does not function on 32-bit Linux devices. Review the CrashPlan for Small Business requirements to ensure your system is compatible with the new and improved app.  
  • Using CrashPlan for Small Business on a headless computer and installing CrashPlan for Small Business on a NAS device remain unsupported. Beginning with version 6.6.0, the CrashPlan for Small Business app does not function in either of these configurations. See Back up networked storage or NAS devices for additional options.   

Fixes and enhancements

  • Security updates.
  • Performance and stability improvements.
  • Improvements to translations.
  • Administrators can no longer specify a different sender address for user invitation emails in the administration console. Using a different sender address could result in emails being unintentionally marked as spam by some email providers.
  • Resolves an issue where a user who registered for an account via an email invitation was automatically logged out after completing registration.

  • Improvements to logging.
  • Corrects a rare issue in which clicking an administration console search result did not properly redirect to the selected result.
  • Corrects a display issue in which some sections of the Device details screen did not appear and some sections incorrectly appeared. 
  • Updates the Code42.com link from the administration console account menu to now direct you to the CrashPlan for Small Business website.
  • Corrects an issue which prevented invoices from appearing when you select an order ID from Account > Previous Billing History.   
  • Resolves an issue in which an error message could appear when attempting to migrate from CrashPlan for Home to CrashPlan for Small Business.
  • Resolves an issue in which an error message would appear if you selected the country Republic of Korea during either of the following processes:   
    • Migrating from CrashPlan for Home to CrashPlan for Small Business
    • Signing up for a free trial of CrashPlan for Small Business
