Open the backup and legacy agent
Overview
The Code42 agent is designed to run in the background quietly, so most of the time you won't know it's there. This article explains how to open the Code42 agent on your device.
Windows
To open the Code42 agent from the Windows menu:
- Click the Windows menu in the lower-left corner (or press the Windows key on your keyboard).
- Click All apps (or type "Code42" in the Windows search field).
- Select Code42.
To open the Code42 agent from the Windows notification area:
- Click the up-arrow icon in the lower-right corner.
- Click the Code42 icon.
- Click the gear icon and select Open Code42.
Mac
To open the Code42 agent from the Applications folder:
- Open the Finder.
- Select Applications (in the left column).
- Double-click Code42.
To open the Code42 agent from the menu bar:
- Click the Code42 icon.
- Click the gear icon.
- Select Open Code42.
To open the Code42 agent with Spotlight:
- Press Command-Space bar to open the Spotlight search bar.
- Type "Code42".
- Press Enter or select the Code42 agent from the list of applications.
Linux
Open the Code42 agent from Terminal with the following command: /usr/local/crashplan/bin/desktop.sh
In Ubuntu, you can also click the Dash icon (home button in the upper-left corner) and type "Code42" to find the app.
