Organizations - Proxy reference

Overview

If you direct traffic for insider risk agents through a proxy, use the Proxy tab on the organization details screen to identify the proxy method, domain name or IP address, and port to use for that traffic.

For more information on proxy settings for backup agents and legacy agents, see Organizations - Device Backup Defaults - Network settings reference.

The method used to connect to the proxy.

  • None
  • Proxy server (shown in image)
  • PAC file (not shown in image)
    • URL of your proxy auto-config (PAC) file
      • Example 1: https://example.com/proxy.pac
      • Example 2: https://192.0.2.50/proxy.pac
  • System determined (not shown in image)
    • If you select System determined, the operating system determines the proxy connection information.
    • Windows devices use the WinHTTP setting and must be set via the netsh.exe command. User session proxy settings defined in a web browser are not used by the Code42 agent.
    • The System determined option does not support PAC files on Windows. PAC files must be explicitly defined via the PAC file option above.

Organizations with Linux devices must use the Proxy server option (PAC and system proxy are not supported).

d Domain name/IP address When Proxy server is selected as the method, the domain name or IP address of that server.
e Port When Proxy server is selected as the method, the port to use for traffic to that server.
