Overview

This article provides information about identifying ports used by the Code42 app. You may need port information when adding the Code42 app as an approved application in your antivirus or security software.

Recommended solution

To display the ports used by the Code42 app:

  1. Open the Code42 app.
  2. Open Code42 Commands by entering the keyboard shortcut for your operating system:
    • Windows: Ctrl+shift+C
    • OS X: Option+Command+C
    • Linux: Ctrl+Shift+C
  3. Enter the following command: connection.info
  4. Press Enter.

The Code42 app responds with the internal IP address and port information. For example:

connection.info
Address=127.0.0.1
Port=4242
UI Port=4243
HTTP Port=4244

The HTTP port is used for communication of the Code42 service and the Code42 app. The port and UI port are reserved, but not used.
