Overview

This article describes a known issue in which two redundant, duplicate Code42 for Enterprise icons appear in the Windows notification area after an upgrade to Code42 for Enterprise on Windows. To remove duplicate icons, follow the steps below for deleting files.

Affects

Devices that meet the following criteria:

  • Windows operating system
  • Code42 for Enterprise versions 5.0 through 5.2

The problem was fixed in Code42 for Enterprise version 5.3.

Diagnosing

If the Windows notification area displays two Code42 for Enterprise icons, follow the instructions below.

Recommended solution

  1. Open a file browser.
  2. Navigate to the directory C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp.
  3. If it exists, delete the file CrashPlan PROe Tray.lnk
