Restore pending

This article applies to Code42 for Enterprise version 4.


If your network connection is interrupted during a restore, CrashPlan automatically pauses the restore process. CrashPlan will resume restoring when the network connection becomes available again. However, in some cases, the restore remains in "Pending" status. Follow the steps in this troubleshooting article to resolve the issue.

Recommended solution

To resume a restore that is Pending, restart the backup engine to re-establish a connection with the destination.

  1. Open the CrashPlan app
  2. Double-click the CrashPlan logo in the upper-right corner
    The CrashPlan command-line area opens
  3. Enter this command:
  4. Press Enter
    This closes the CrashPlan app, stops the CrashPlan service, and then restarts the CrashPlan service

Running the restart command

If the restore status is still Pending after restarting the backup engine, restart the restore process.

To prevent network disruptions, optimize your computer's energy settings to prevent it from going to sleep during the restore. This allows the restore to complete without interruption. If you are using a laptop, keep the lid open until the restore finishes and plug in the power adapter.
