The CrashPlan service that performs all backup operations is stopped following a successful upgrade from Mac OS X v10.6 to OS X v10.7. No backup operations occur.
CrashPlan 3.0.3 and CrashPlan 3.1 on Mac systems upgraded from Mac OS X v10.6 (Snow Leopard) to OS X v10.7 (Lion).
- Launch the CrashPlan app after the upgrade has completed.
- When prompted, install Java.
- Software update installs Java. When Software Update is finished installing Java, the CrashPlan app opens and backup begins normally.
The CrashPlan app needs to be launched only once following the system upgrade. The CrashPlan service will start automatically upon restart after Java has been installed.
