This article applies to Code42 for Enterprise version 4.

Overview

Use the options on the Backup tab to view and modify backup settings, including backup destinations, files to back up, and status. The following illustration shows the Backup tab with CrashPlan backing up a single set of files to a single destination. With backup sets enabled you can back up different groups of files to different locations and even use different settings for each set.

Item Description
a Notification Displays notifications about your backup. Click the “x” in the upper right corner to dismiss the message. Dismissed messages cannot be displayed again.
b Backup destinations

The computers or devices to which you are backing up. They may or may not be active. Click a backup destination to display the destination details. The icon next to the destination name indicates its status:
Green - indicates that you are connected to that destination.
Gray - indicates that you are not connected to that destination.
Checkmark - indicates that the list of files to back up is complete. When you create or change a file, the real-time file watcher reports the changed file and the checkmark disappears.

c Resume/Pause Resumes/Pauses backup.
d Backup status Progress bar shows current backup activity for each of the destinations currently backing up.
e Info icon Displays backup status details about the number of files to be backed up and the number that have been backed up.
f Files Specifies the file/folders to be included in your backup. You can select as many files or folders as you want.
g File totals Number and amount of files selected for backup.
h Change Displays file tree where you can add or delete files in your backup file selection.

Indicates a folder with with one or more (but not all) subfolders included in the backup selection.

b Click the triangle next to a folder to expand and collapse its subfolders.
c Indicates the folder is included in the backup selection.
d Indicates a folder or file that is excluded from the backup selection because it matches a filename pattern or regular expression included in your backup settings.
e Indicates the the folder is excluded from the backup selection.
f Show hidden files Select to display or hide hidden temporary and system files.
g Excluded from server destinations Indicates that your backup settings include rules for excluding files or folders using filename patterns or regular expressions.
h Cancel Click to cancel changes you don't want to save.
i Save Click to save changes to your file selection.
