This article explains how to offer a destination to your organizations so that it can be used for redundant backup.
Considerations
When you add a new destination to your Code42 environment, it is not immediately offered to your devices for backup. You can offer a destination in two ways:
- To your entire Code42 environment
- Per organization
Destination with no store points
If a destination has no store points or no store points are configured to accept data, do not offer the destination to organizations in your Code42 environment. Devices cannot back up to destinations with no storage.

Steps
Offer a destination to all organizations
To offer a destination to all organizations that are set to inherit their destination settings from root, use these steps:
- Log in to the Code42 console.
- Navigate to Settings > Organization > Destinations.
- Check the box next to the destination(s) that you wish to offer to all organizations.
Offer a destination to a specific organization
To offer a destination to a specific organization, use the steps below:
- Log in to the Code42 console.
- Navigate to the Organizations overview screen.
- Click on the name of the organization to which you'd like to offer the destination.
- From the organization's detail pane, click the action menu in the upper right, and choose Edit.
- Click the Destinations tab.
- Uncheck the "Inherit destination settings from parent" checkbox.
- Check the box next to the destination you wish to offer, and save your changes.
Disabled inheritance
If you disable inheritance for an organization, that organization is not affected by changes to its parent organization.
