Overview
The Device Status report gives you visibility to address common problems and questions about devices in your Code42 environment. To analyze the data in-depth, export the report as a CSV file and use the data-analysis tool of your choice.
Code42 server version 6.7.2 introduced several updates to the Device Status report. Click below to expand or collapse the details for your version.
Code42 server version 6.7.2 and later
In very large Code42 environments (100,000+ devices), running this report without specifying any search criteria can cause noticeable performance delays. We recommend specifying search criteria when possible.
To access the Device Status report:
- Sign in to the Code42 console.
- From the left menu, select Reporting > Device Status.
Search options

j | Restrict to UID | Filters the search results by the unique identifier of an organization, user, device, or destination. |
k | UID | If Restrict to UID (j) is selected, defines the unique identifier to filter by. |
l | Include child organizations | When restricting to a specific Organization UID, specifies whether or not to include child organizations in the search results. |
m | Run Report | Returns search results based on selected criteria. |
Search results

Displays a list of all possible columns to include in the search results. The default columns are listed in items b - n below.

b | Device Uid | Unique identifier for the device. |
c | Device Name |
The name assigned to the device by Code42. By default, Device Name uses the Hostname reported by the device's operating system, but users and administrators can change the Device Name in the Code42 app and/or Code42 console. |
d | Hostname Code42 server version 6.8.4 and later |
The name of the device as reported by the device's operating system. The Hostname is a device property that is not managed by Code42, but if an authorized user changes the hostname of the device, the new hostname may take up to 24 hours to update in the Code42 console.
Hostname requires Code42 app version 6.8.4 or later. Devices on older versions of the Code42 app display "UNKNOWN." |

Filters by user status. Possible user states:

i | Destination Name | Name of the destination. |
j | Last Activity | Date and time that the device last sent backup data to the specified destination. |
k | Last Completed Backup Date | Date and time that the device last completed a backup to the specified destination. |
l | Backup % Complete | Percentage of files selected for backup that are currently backed up. |
m | Cold Storage |
Cold storage status of the device's archive.

n | Organization Name | Name of the device's organization. |
o | Export Records | Downloads a CSV file of all search results. |
p | Page size | Select to display 10, 25, 50, or 100 results per page. |

User Profile Status |
The most recent User Profile Backup status. This only applies to Windows devices with Microsoft's User State Migration Tool (USMT). Choose:

Destination UID | Unique identifier of the destination. | |
Last Connected Date | Date and time that the device last connected to the specified destination. | |
Created Date | Date and time this device was created in the Code42 environment. | |
Archive Size | Total number of bytes consumed by backed up files. | |
Archive GUID | Globally unique identifier of the backup archive. | |
Size of Selected Files | Total number of bytes selected for backup. | |
Organization UID | Unique identifier of the organization. | |
Organization External Reference | External reference information for the organization. | |
Client Version |
Version 7.0 and later Version number of the Code42 app installed on the device, including the build number. For example, 7.0.0.123 indicates Code42 app version 7.0.0, build 123.
Version 6.x Long version number of the Code42 app installed on the device. The last three digits of the version number denote the Code42 app version. For example, a device listing the version number 1446267600650 means the device is running Code42 app version 6.5.0. |

- Select the report:

- From the left menu, select Reporting > Device Status.
Version 6.0.x and earlier
- From the application selector in the upper-right corner of the Code42 console toolbar, select Reporting.
- Select Device Status Report.
