Overview

The Storage > Store points menu provides options for managing your store points, including assigned devices, cold storage, and device archives.

Store Point Overview

Clicking items and values from the Store Points list displays the store point details, unless otherwise noted.

Store Points

Item Description
a Action menu Contains commands available in the Store Point Overview.
b Select all Selects all store points on this page.
c Name Store point name.
Click to view store point details.
d Server Name of this store point's associated server.
Click to view server details.
e Open Archives Number of archives on this store point that are currently being accessed.
f Stored Disk space used for archives on this store point.
Click a store point's Stored value to view a list of archives residing on the store point.
g Free Amount of free disk space on this store point.
h Cold Data in cold storage on this store point.
Click a store point's Cold value to view a list of archives in cold storage on the store point.
i Accepting Data

Indicates whether devices are allowed to send new data to existing archives on this store point.

Store point enabled - store point accepts incoming data.
Store point disabled - store point does not accept incoming data.

j Accepting New Archives

Indicates whether devices are allowed to store new archives on this store point.

Store point enabled - store point accepts new archives.
Store point disabled - store point does not accept new archives.

k Balancing

Indicates whether data balancing is enabled for this store point.

Store point enabled - data balancing enabled on this store point.
Store point disabled - data balancing disabled on this store point.

Action menu

Command Description
Show Alerts Shows all store points that are currently in an alert state.

Resume Activity

Enables inbound backup and syncing on the selected store points.

Pause Activity

Disables inbound backup and syncing on the selected store points.
Enable Balancing Enables data balancing on the selected store points.
Disable Balancing Disables data balancing on the selected store points.

Accept New Archives

Allows new devices to be assigned to the selected store point.

Reject New Archives

Disallows new devices from being assigned to the selected store point.
Export All Exports a list of selected store points to a CSV file. If no store points are selected, the list includes all store points.
Print Prints the list of store points.

CSV export

Export all visible list items to a CSV file by selecting the Action menu > Export All. If no store point is selected, all store points are exported. The following attributes are exported to the CSV file.

Field Description

storePointId

Identification number for the store point.

storePointName

Name of the store point.
note Administrator notes. Information entered here is only presented to administrators.
path Parent directory of the store point.
directory Name of the store point's directory.
absolutePath Full pathname of the store point on the file system.
serverId Identification number of the server associated with this store point.
serverName Name of the server associated with this store point.
destinationId Identification number of the destination associated with this store point.
destinationName Name of the destination associated with this store point.
backupSessionCount Number of devices currently backing up to this store point.
computerCount Number of devices assigned to this store point.
usedBytes Amount of used space for this store point.
usedPercentage Percentage of total space used on this store point.
freeBytes Amount of free space on this store point.
freeBytesAlert Free space alert of the store point.
freePercentage Percentage of total free space on this store point.
coldBytes Amount of data in cold storage on this store point.
coldPercentageOfUsed Percentage of used space consumed by cold storage.
coldPercentageOfTotal Percentage of total space consumed by archives in cold storage.
totalBytes Total storage capacity of this store point.
acceptingInboundBackup Indicates whether devices are allowed to send new data to existing archives on this store point.
  • TRUE: store point accepts incoming data.
  • FALSE: store point does not accept incoming data.
balancingData

Indicates whether data balancing is enabled for this store point.

  • TRUE: Data balancing enabled on this store point.
  • FALSE: Data balancing disabled on this store point.
acceptingNewComputers

Indicates whether devices are allowed to store new archives on this store point.

  • TRUE: Store point accepts new archives.
  • FALSE: Store point does not accept new archives.
writeSpeed A performance test showing the speed at which the Code42 service writes to the disk.
archiveSessionCount Number of archives on this store point that are currently being accessed for backup.

Archives

From the Store points overview, click a store point's Stored value to view a list of archives residing on the store point. View screen details in the destinations article.

Cold storage

From the Store points overview, click a store point's Cold value to view a list of archives currently in cold storage.

Item Description
a Action menu Contains actions that you can apply to the selected archive(s).
b Select All Selects all archives on this page.
c Type

Indicates the archive type.

d Archive GUID Globally unique identifier of the device.
e Organization Organization where the archive resides.
f User User that owns the archive.
g Device Name Name of the device that owns the archive.
Note: Security archives displays Not Available because more than one device can be associated with a security archive.
h Store point Store point where the archive resides.
i Size Amount of space consumed by the archive.
j Purge Date

Date when the archive leaves cold storage and expires.

Action menu

When one or more items in the Cold Storage list is selected, the following commands are available.

Command Description
Purge Archive Removes the selected archives from the store point's file system permanently.
Change Purge Date Changes the date when the selected archives will be completely removed from the store point's file system.

Export All

Exports a list of archives to a CSV file.

Print... Prints the list of archives.

CSV export

Export all visible list items to a CSV file by selecting action menu > Export All. If no archive is selected, all archives in the list are exported. The following attributes are exported to the CSV file.

archiveGuid Globally unique identifier for the archive.
id Identification number of the archive.
archiveBytes Total size of files selected for back up and sync.
sourceUserId Identification number for the user associated with this archive.
sourceUserFirstName First name of the user associated with the archive.
sourceUserLastName Last name of the user associated with the archive.
sourceUserEmail Email for the user associated with the archive.
sourceComputerId An identification number for the device associated with the archive.
sourceComputerName Name of the device associated with the archive.
sourceComputerService Indicates the app associated with the archive.
purgeDate Date when the archive leaves cold storage. When the archive leaves cold storage, the archive expires.
orgId Identification number of the organization where the archive resides.
orgName Name of the organization where the archive resides.
storePointId Identification number of the store point where the archive resides.
storePointName Name of the store point where the archive resides.
serverName Name of the server associated with the store point.

Store point details

The {{storepoint} details view displays statistics and settings for the selected {{storepoint}}.

a Store point name Name of store point. To edit the name, go to Action menu > Edit.
b Destination name Name of the destination to which this store point belongs.
c Server name Name of the server to which this store point belongs.
d Action menu Contains actions that you can apply to the store point.
e Stored Amount of space consumed by archives on the store point.
f Free Free space remaining within the store point.
g Cold Amount of space consumed by archives in cold storage.
Click to view archives in Cold Storage.
h Write Speed

Real-time speed in bits per second that can be written to this store point at this moment in time.

Click to recalculate.
i Maintenance Time since last maintenance was performed on the store point.
Click to view history of completed archive maintenance jobs on a store point
j Accepting data status

Indicates whether devices are allowed to send new data to existing archives on this store point.

- store point accepts incoming data.
- store point does not accept incoming data.

k Accepting new device status

Indicates whether devices are allowed to store new archives on this store point.

- store point does not accept new archives.

l Balancing status

Indicates whether data balancing is enabled for this store point.

Statistics related to the amount of data stored for this store point. Click the Used Storage number to view the archives on this store point.

Comparison of storage consumed per user.
Click regions to view details.

Path

Path to the store point's parent directory. To edit the path, go to Action menu > Edit.
p Directory

Name of directory within the path listed above.

q Note Displays any notes for the store point. To edit or add notes, go to Action menu > Edit.

Action menu

Command Description
Edit Allows you to edit information for this store point, including name, path, and notes.
Migrate Device Archives Moves all archives residing on this store point to a different store point. Choose to migrate archives to any store point that is currently available or to a specific store point. Data balancing must be on for target store point. To migrate all archives from one store point to another, turn off balancing on the store point you want to empty.
Remove Removes the selected store point.

Resume Activity

Allows devices to back up and sync to this store point. Only available if activity is currently disabled.

Pause Activity

Disallows devices from backing up and syncing to this store point. Only available if activity is currently enabled.
Accept New Archives Allows new devices to be assigned to back up and sync to this store point.
Reject New Archives Disallows new devices to be assigned to back up and sync to this store point.
Enable Balancing Includes this store point in data balancing operations. Only available if balancing is currently disabled.
Disable Balancing Excludes this store point in data balancing operations. Archives assigned to this store point will remain on this store point unless migrated by an admin.
Print Prints store point details.

Edit

Item Description
a Name Specifies the name for the store point. This name is only presented to administrators.
b Path Sets the path to the store point's parent directory.
c Note Defines notes about the store point. Information entered here is only presented to administrators.

Migrate device archives

migrate device archives

Item Description
a Total archive size Total size (on disk) of all archives that will be migrated to the selected store point.
b Migrate all archives to available store points Selects to migrate all archives from the selected store point to whichever other store points are available.
c Migrate all archives to specified store point Selects to migrate all archives from the selected store point to the specified store point. All archives are migrated to a single store point.
d Search store points Searches store points.
e Store point list List of store points. Use the smart search to filter the list. Click a store point to select.

Archive maintenance completed jobs

From the store point details view, click the time shown under Maintenance to view a list of completed archive maintenance jobs for the store point.

Item Description
a Action menu Commands for printing or exporting completed archive maintenance job details.
b GUID Globally unique identifier for the device associated with the archive.
c Archive Size Disk space used for an archive.
d Compacted By Total amount of free space allocated to the store point after archive maintenance pruning removes versions and files from an archive.
e Duration Total amount of time needed to complete the archive maintenance job.
f Completed Total time elapsed since an archive maintenance job completed.
