Edit Destination Servers

Item Description
a Name Descriptive name for the selected server. This name is only presented to administrators.
b

Maintenance Rate, User Jobs
Master servers only

Process priority for archive maintenance operations requested by the user. Increase priority to allocate more resources to archive maintenance operations. Increasing priority increases load on the host server.
c Maintenance Rate, System Jobs
Master servers only
Process priority for archive maintenance operations automatically initiated by the system. Increase priority to allocate more resources to archive maintenance operations. Increasing priority increases load on the host server.
d Website protocol, host and port

Sets the URL used for the administration console and for all system emails, including alerts and reports.

  • The protocol can be http:// or https://.
  • The host can be a hostname or an IP address (IPv4 or IPv6).
  • For http, use port 4280. For https, use port 4285.
e Primary network address

Sets the primary network address used for communication with user devices and other Code42 servers.

  • Information in the network address fields overwrites any information entered into the device once the device connects to the master server.
  • The primary network address can be either a hostname or an IP address (IPv4 or IPv6), but a hostname is recommended for most environments.
  • The default port is 4282.
f Secondary network address

Sets the secondary network address used for communication with user devices and other Code42 servers. The secondary network address is used by devices only when they cannot reach the primary network address.

  • The secondary network address can be either a hostname or an IP address (IPv4 or IPv6), but an IP address is recommended in order to maintain connectivity in case DNS services are unavailable.
  • The default port is 4282.
g Private address

Sets the address that other Code42 servers within the destination use to communicate with this Code42 server for internal statistics and data balancing traffic.

  • The private address can be either a hostname or an IP address (IPv4 or IPv6).
  • Communication is hard coded to use TCP 4283 and 4286, so only the address is accepted in this field.
h Connection test result: able to connect The specified address and ports are reachable.
i Connection test result: unable to connect The specified address and ports are unreachable.
