  • For http, use port 4280. For https, use port 4285.
i Primary network address

Sets the primary network address used for communication with user devices and other Code42 servers.

  • Information in the network address fields overwrites any information entered into the device once the device connects to the master server.
  • The primary network address can be either a hostname or an IP address (IPv4 or IPv6), but a hostname is recommended for most environments.
  • The default port is 4282.
j Secondary network address

Sets the secondary network address used for communication with user devices and other Code42 servers. The secondary network address is used by devices only when they cannot reach the primary network address.

  • The secondary network address can be either a hostname or an IP address (IPv4 or IPv6), but an IP address is recommended in order to maintain connectivity in case DNS services are unavailable.
  • The default port is 4282.
k

Proxy address

Code42 server version 5.4 and later

Sets the address of an HTTPS proxy server through which the master server sends its requests to the Code42 licensing server.

  • The proxy address can be either a hostname or an IP address (IPv4 or IPv6), followed by a port number. An IP address is preferred in order to maintain connectivity when DNS services are unavailable.
  • You must provide a port number. There is no default port.
  • If no proxy is defined, requests go to the licensing server via port 443.
  • Requests to other Code42 servers do not go through the proxy.
Requests to other Code42 servers (i.e., storage providers and other authorities) go through ports 4282 through 4288.
l Auto-upgrade storage servers Enables or disables automatic upgrade of storage servers. When this option is enabled, the master server will regularly attempt to upgrade any storage servers running an earlier version of the Code42 platform.
m Auto-upgrade devices Enables or disables automatic upgrade of CrashPlan app devices when a new device version is available. For more information, see Best Practices For Upgrading Your Devices.
n Language

Sets the administration console's default language.

  • The language setting can be overridden by the individual user from the administration console's toolbar language selector.
  • When Automatic is selected, the administration console displays the locale set for the host operating system.
o From address Sets the email address to send system mail from.
We recommend using an address within your company's domain to increase the probability that mail will be allowed through spam filters.
p Internal server

Enables or disables the internal email server, and displays or hides the custom mail server options below. We recommend that you use your own mail server for all production environments.

q Host Specifies the fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) or IP address of your mail server.
r SSL

Enables or disables email communication over the secure socket layer (SSL).

Emails not being sent
If you have enabled SSL but chosen to use the internal mail server, then you may not receive email notifications from the server. If this occurs, uncheck the SSL option and save your settings.
s Username and password Specifies the username and password for the account that the server will send mail from.
t Store point free space Sends an alert email to administrators when a store point's free space drops below the listed thresholds. Administrators receive one email when free space drops below the warning threshold and a second email when free space drops below the critical threshold.
u Available licenses Sends an email to administrators when the number of available user licenses drops below the warning or critical thresholds. A single email is sent when each threshold is passed.
v No backup for Sends an alert email to administrators when a device has not backed up to any destinations for more than the configured number of days. A single email is sent when each threshold is passed.
