Enterprise servers running on OS X with the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 7
Under the hood
The Oracle JRE 7 does not include the command line tools that the Code42 enterprise server needs to run. However, the Oracle Java Development Kit (JDK) 7 does include the necessary command line tools.
To resolve the issue, download and install Oracle Java Development Kit (JDK) 7.
- Download Oracle JDK 7.
- Install JDK 7 on the host OS X server.
- Open the Terminal application.
- Run the following command to verify that the operating system recognizes Java:
Example expected output:
Administrators-Mac:~ admin$ java -version java version "1.7.0_71" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_71-b14) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.71-b01, mixed mode)
