Customizing Your Administration Console

You can customize the administration console by adding your own graphics and text. The information in this article outlines what specific elements can be customized and how to enable the customizations. Only the elements described in this article are customizable.

Considerations

Administrative access to the enterprise server's file system is required. Administrators of managed appliances must contact sales to customize their administration console.

Elements

You can change the following elements in the console:

Sign-in page
  • Logo
  • Text instructions and interface labels
Console
  • Logo in the header
  • Background color / gradient in the header
  • Welcome message that appears after signing in

Customizing images and colors

  1. On your enterprise server's file system, navigate to web/base/console/custom
    Absolute paths to the custom folder for each operating system are listed in the File and Folder Hierarchy.
  2. Replace any of the following files with your own images:
    • custom-login-logo.png (logo on the sign-in page)
    • custom_logo.png (logo on the header)
  3. Open console/custom/config.css in a plain text or CSS editor
  4. Uncomment the CSS rules that apply to the images you just replaced. If your files are named differently, update the file names for those rules
  5. (Optional) Make additional CSS changes to colors
  6. Save your changes to the file

Clear your browser's cache and open the administration console to view your changes.

Customizing text

  1. On your enterprise server's file system, navigate to web/base/console/custom
    Absolute paths to the custom folder for each operating system are listed in the File and Folder Hierarchy.
  2. Open console/custom/txt.properties
  3. Uncomment the lines you want to modify
  4. Substitute your custom values for the sample text
  5. Save your changes to the file

Clear your browser's cache and open the administration console to view your changes.

Values and labels

You can configure these items:

login_username the label for the username field
login_password the label for the password field
login_adminUsername displayed when first activating the system, the label for the username field

login_adminEmail displayed when first activating the system, the label for the email field
login_adminEmailTip tooltip displayed when first activating the system for the email field
login_mlk displayed when first activating the system, the label for the master license key field
login_setupMessage displayed when first activating the system, the label that describes the setup message
login_remember the label for the remember me checkbox
login_forgot the label for the forgot your password link
login_prompt the label for the sign in button
