Overview

Describes in detail the available settings and controls for managing destination servers.

Server overview

Clicking a value in any of the Server Overview columns opens Server Details for the selected server, except where noted.

Destination Server Overview

Item Description
a Action menu Contains commands available in the Servers list view.
b Select all Select all servers on this page.
c Name Server name.
d Destination Destination name.
e Sessions Number of devices currently connected to this server.
f Devices Number of devices backing up to this server.
g Stored Total amount of disk space used for backed up files for all store points on this server. Click the Stored value to display a list of all backup archives currently residing on the selected server.
h Free Amount of free space for all store points on this server.
i Inbound backup status (Enabled or Disabled) Indicates whether devices are allowed to back up to this server.
j Accepting new device status (Enabled or Disabled) Indicates whether new devices are allowed to back up to this server.
k Balancing status (Enabled or Disabled) Indicates whether data balancing is enabled.
m Online status (Online or Offline) Indicates whether the server is online and able to communicate with the master server.

Action Menu

Command Description
Show All Displays all servers
Show Alerts Displays all servers currently in an alert state
Export All Exports all servers in the list to a CSV file
Print... Prints the list of servers
Upgrade Server Upgrades the selected server

Archives

From the Servers Overview, click a server's Stored value to view a list of backup archives residing on the server. View screen details in the Destinations article.

CSV export

Export all visible servers to a CSV file by selecting action menu > Export All. If no server is selected, all servers in the list are exported.

Field Description
server ID Identification number of the server.
guid Globally Unique IDentifier for this server.
ServerName Name of the server.
type

Type of server associated with the destination. The type can be SERVER or STORAGE.

acceptingInboundBackup

Indicates whether devices are allowed to send new data to existing archives on this server.

  • ALL: All store points on this server accept incoming data.
  • SOME: Some store points on this server accept incoming data.
  • NONE: No store points on this server accept incoming data.

balancingData

Indicates whether data balancing is enabled for this server.

  • ALL: Data balancing enabled on all store points on this server.
  • SOME: Data balancing enabled on some store points on this server.
  • NONE: No store points on this server allow data balancing.

acceptingNewComputers

Indicates whether new devices are allowed to back up to this server.

  • ALL: All store points on this server accept new devices.
  • SOME: Some store points on this server accept new devices.
  • NONE: No store points on this server accept new devices.

clusterServerId

Identification number of the cluster server.

destinationId

Identification number for the destination.

destinationName

Name of the destination.

primaryAddress

Primary network address used for client to server communication and for server to server communication.

secondaryAddress

Secondary network address used for client to server communication and for server to server communication.

websiteHost

Information used to build all links presented in the desktop and in all system emails, including alerts, and reports.

storePointCount

Number of store points under this destination.
totalBytes Total storage capacity for all store points on this server.
usedBytes Amount of used disk space on this server.
usedPercentage Percentage of used disk space for the server.
freeBytes Amount of free space on this server.
freePercentage Percentage of free space for this server
coldBytes

Amount of space consumed by archives in cold storage.

coldPercentageOfUsed

Percentage of used space consumed by archives in cold storage.

coldPercentageOfTotal

Percentage of total space consumed by archives in cold storage.

onlineComputerCount

Number of devices currently connected to this server.

inboundBandwidth

Amount of bandwidth this server allows for inbound back up.
outboundBandwidth Amount of bandwidth this server allows for outbound back up.
userCount Number of users on this server.
orgCount Number of organizations associated with this server.
archiveBytes

Total size of files selected for back up and sync.

selectedBytes

Total number of bytes selected for back up.

remainingBytes

Total size of files waiting to be backed up.

backupSessionCount Number of devices currently backing up and syncing to this server.
computerCount Number of devices associated with this server.
If you are using SharePlan this number may not be accurate.

Server details

Server Details displays stats and settings for the selected server.

Destination Servers Detail

Item Description
a Server GUID The globally unique identifier for this server.
b Action menu Displays actions that you can apply to this server.
c Free Storage space remaining on this server.
d Cold Space used by cold storage on this server.
e Archive Maintenance Time since last archive maintenance operation.
f Inbound Backup Green: indicates this server is accepting inbound backups.
Gray: indicates this server is not accepting inbound backups.
g Accepting New Devices Green: indicates this server is accepting new devices for backup.
Gray: indicates this server is not accepting new devices for backup.
h Balancing Green: indicates data balancing is enabled for this server.
Gray: indicates data balancing is not enabled for this server.
i Online Green: indicates this server is online.
Gray: indicates this server is not online.
j Store Point Name Lists the name of each store point on this server.
k Sessions Backup sessions on this store point.
l Devices Devices backing up to this store point.
m Stored Storage space used on this store point.
n Free Storage space remaining on this store point.
o Cold Space used by cold storage on this store point.
p Balancing Green: indicates data balancing is enabled for this store point.
Gray: indicates data balancing is not enabled for this store point.
q Accepting New Devices Green: indicates this store point is accepting new devices for backup.
Gray: indicates this store point is not accepting new devices for backup.
r Inbound Backup Green: indicates this store point is accepting inbound backups.
Gray: indicates this store point is not accepting inbound backups.
s Online Stats related to the number of currently connected devices.
t Stored Stats related to the amount of data stored for this server.
u Storage Utilization Comparison of storage consumed per user. Chart regions are clickable.
v Backing Up Stats related to devices currently backing up. Displayed averages are per server and per store point.

Action menu

Command Description
Edit... Edit server configuration information.
Add Store point... Add a store point to this server.
Change Destination Reassign the server to a different destination. Only available for storage servers in a multi-destination environment.
Remove Remove server. Not available if any devices are currently assigned to back up to this server.
Restart Server Restart the enterprise server process on this server.
Sync Server Initiate the sync job between the selected storage server and the master server. Only available when the selected server is a storage server.
Upgrade Server Upgrade the selected server.
Print... Print Server Details.

Edit Destination Servers

Item Description
a Name Descriptive name for the selected server. This name is only presented to administrators.
b Maintenance Rate, User Jobs Process priority for archive maintenance operations requested by the user. Increase priority to allocate more resources to archive maintenance operations. Increasing priority increases load on the host server.
c Maintenance Rate, System Jobs Process priority for archive maintenance operations automatically initiated by the system. Increase priority to allocate more resources to archive maintenance operations. Increasing priority increases load on the host server.
d Website protocol, host and port The information entered here is used to build all links presented in the desktop and in all system emails, including alerts, and reports.
e Primary network address Primary network address used for client to server communication and for server to server communication. Information in the network address fields overwrites any information entered into the client once the client connects to the master server.
f Secondary network address Secondary network address used for client to server communication and for server to server communication.
g Private address Address other servers within the destination use to communicate with this server for internal statistics and data balancing traffic. Communication is hard coded to use TCP 4283 and 4286, so only the address is accepted in this field.
h Connection test result: able to connect The specified address and ports are reachable.
i Connection test result: unable to connect The specified address and ports are unreachable.

Item Description
a Name Descriptive name for the new store point. This name is only presented to administrators.
b Path The store point directory is created under the specified path.
c Note Administrator notes. Information entered here is only presented to administrators.
