The system requirements below are for enterprise server version 3.6.

System requirements for the CrashPlan app are also available.

Enterprise Server System Requirements

IMPORTANT NOTE: The system specifications listed below are the minimum requirements for a successful enterprise server install.  They are not recommendations for a production environment.

  * Enterprise server runs in 32-bit mode on Solaris and OpenSolaris systems. Solaris and OpenSolaris installations support CrashPlan only.

Operating System Considerations
Alpha, beta, and other pre-release operating systems are not supported. Only the specific operating system versions listed on this page are supported.

Network Requirements

Enterprise Server Ports

It is required that the following ports are accessible in order for your Code42 environment to function properly. These ports cannot be changed.

  • TCP 4280: HTTP access to the administration console and device upgrades
  • TCP 4282: Listening port on an enterprise server for device-to-server, mobile-device-to-server, and server-to-server communication
  • TCP 4283: Communication between servers within a destination
  • TCP 4285: HTTPS access to the administration console
  • TCP 4286: Communication between servers within a destination

CrashPlan App Ports

  • TCP 4243 (on localhost): Communication between the CrashPlan app and the Code42 service
  • TCP 4242: Backup between devices under a single user account

Administration Console Requirements

  • Minimum resolution: 1024×768
  • Supported web browsers (stable versions):
    • Chrome version 36 and later
    • Firefox version 31 and later
    • Internet Explorer 10 and 11
    • Safari on OS X: version 6.1, version 7, and version 8
    • Safari on iOS: Latest version

End User Application Requirements

The system specifications listed below are the minimum requirements needed to successfully install the CrashPlan app.

The CrashPlan app requires a graphical user interface (GUI) for use on all operating systems.

On OS X 10.6, the CrashPlan app version 4.3.4 only supports per user installation. However, devices with previous versions of the CrashPlan app will continue to upgrade if installed for everyone.
