Overview

From the Server Settings screen, you can access various server details, as well as configure email alerts related to free space, available licenses, and backup status.

Item Description
a Action Menu Contains available server commands.
b Current Server Version Displays current version of the enterprise server software.
c Daily accounting time Time when the daily accounting job runs.
d Maintain archives every Define how often this destination performs archive maintenance on each archive.
e Keep expired cold storage expired archives for Archives stored on the master server that have reached the end of their cold storage retention period are retained for an additional x number of days. When set to 0 days, archives are purged from disk the next time daily accounting runs following cold storage expiration.
f Archive maintenance queue View the list of backup archives currently waiting for maintenance to be performed.
g System logs View the logs from this server.
h Website protocol, host and port The information entered here is used to build all links presented in the desktop and in all system emails, including alerts and reports.
i Primary network address

Primary network address used for client to server communication and for server to server communication. Information in the network address fields overwrites any information entered into the client once the client connects to the master server.

The primary network address can be either a hostname or an IP address, but a hostname is recommended for most environments.

j Secondary network address

Secondary network address used for client to server communication and for server to server communication. The secondary network address is used by devices only when they cannot reach the primary network address.

The secondary network address can be either a hostname or an IP address, but an IP address is recommended in order to maintain connectivity in case DNS services are unavailable.

k Auto-upgrade storage nodes Enable or disable automatic upgrade of storage servers. When this option is enabled, the master server will regularly attempt to upgrade any storage servers running an earlier version of the enterprise server software.
l Auto-upgrade devices Enable or disable automatic upgrade of CrashPlan app devices when the master server is upgraded. For more info see Best Practices For Upgrading Your Devices.
m Language Sets the administration console's default language displayed when a user accesses the administration console. The language setting can be overridden by the individual user from the administration console's toolbar language selector. When set to Automatic, the administration console displays the locale set for the operating system user that the master server is installed under.
n From address Email address to send system mail from. This should be changed to an address within your company's domain to increase the probability that mail will be allowed through SPAM filters.
o Internal server

Enables or disables the internal email server, and displays or hides the custom mail server options below. We recommend that you use your own mail server for all production environments.

Host Specifies the fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) or IP address of your mail server.
SSL

Enables or disables email communication over the secure socket layer (SSL).

Emails Not Being Sent
If you have enabled SSL but chosen to use the internal mail server, then you may not receive email notifications from the server. If this occurs, uncheck the SSL option and save your settings.
Username and password Specifies the username and password for the account that the server will send mail from.
p Storage point free space Send an alert email to administrators when a store point's free space drops below the listed thresholds. Administrators receive one email once available free space drops below the warning threshold and a second email once available free space drops below the critical threshold.
q Available licenses Send an email to administrators when the number of available user licenses drops below the warning or critical thresholds. A single email is sent when each threshold is eclipsed.
r No backup for Send an alert email to administrators when a device has not backed up to any destinations for more than the configured number of days. A single email is sent when each threshold is eclipsed.
s Reset Discard changes and reset settings to previously saved values.
t Save Save changes.

Item Description
Run Daily Accounting Execute the daily accounting job immediately.
Send Test Email Send a test email using your currently configured mail settings.
Send Logs Used in response to a request from our Customer Champions to send your log files, this action displays a window in which you can enter your support ticket. When you click send, the necessary log server files are packaged and sent to support with the associated support ticket number.
Dump Database Immediately creates a dump of this server's database for backup purposes. The master server's database is required for server recovery or to move the enterprise server to different hardware.
Import Database Import a database dump.
Restart Server Restart the enterprise server process
Upgrade Upgrade your server and clients to a new version.

Upgrade

Use the Upgrade command to upgrade your CrashPlan PROe environment to a new version. Full upgrade information is available on the Software Upgrades page.

Item Description
a Upload the upgrade file to the enterprise server and begin the upgrade process.
Important! Always review the upgrade documentation and perform a test upgrade prior to upgrading your production environment.
b Your enterprise server's current version. Upgrades files are written to go from a specific version to a specific version. Verify the upgrade file you've downloaded is for the correct current server version before applying the upgrade.
c Cancel and return to the Server Settings screen.

Item Description
a Maintenance Rate, User Jobs Percent of a single CPU thread to use for archive maintenance on user jobs; the lower the value, the longer the amount of time needed for archive maintenance jobs
b Maintenance Rate, System Jobs Percent of a single CPU thread to use for archive maintenance on system jobs; the lower the value, the longer the amount of time needed for archive maintenance jobs
c Cancel Revert changes and close the Adjust Maintenance Rate pane
d Save Save changes and close the Adjust Maintenance Rate pane

Logs

Logs Viewer

Item Description
a Log selector Selects the log to display. Default is the most recent general history log (history.log.0).
b Regular expression filter Filter the displayed logs using regular expressions.
c Log viewer Displays the contents of the selected log.
d Previous page Click to display the previous page of log information.
e Page selector Click a dot to select a specific page of logs. Mouse over the dots to see a tooltip of each page number.
f Next page Click to display the next page of log information.
g Page indicator Identifies the page of log information currently shown in the log viewer.
